This was the first Aerosmith album I ever heard. The first time I heard it was when I was in the Air Force, stationed at Eglin Air Force Base in Western Florida (my first permanent duty station). My first dorm mate there, Jeff Marshall from Indiana, was really into Aerosmith and Van Halen. Jeff said that Permanent Vacation was a good drinking album.

The song Hangman's Jury really grabbed me. There's something alluring about the song. To this day, it's one of my favorite tunes. But then again, I like Led Zeppelin's 'Gallows Pole', so maybe I just like songs about people getting hanged...
