Anyone who likes the Pixies as much as I do should get the Frank Black albums. They're very good (although nowhere near as great as the Pixies albums).

I actually saw Frank Black at the Warfield in San Francisco with my girlfriend at the time, Andrea. We were wondering throughout the whole concert if he was going to do any Pixies tunes. Our seats were next to the soundman's seats and she noticed he had a list of all the songs that were to be played. She went up to him and asked him for the list as a souvenier, and he gave it to her. We were pretty bummed that Frank wasn't going to play any of the original Pixies songs.

One cool thing is that Joey Santiago was playing with him and Frank introduced Joey as being "the defining sound of our previous band".

Cool that Joey got recognition, but strange that Frank couldn't bring himself to mention 'the Pixies'.
