Kate Oliver and I went to Death Valley on a lark. We spent a few nights in Johannesburg, a real life ghost-town, at the Death Valley Hostel, run by an old desert woman named Michelle. Sadly, the hostel is no more as of 2002.
We got free pizza! We were very tired, very dirty and very hungry from biking around in the desert for a few days. We came to a pizza joint, and got our order wrong twice. They actually got it wrong the thrid time, but we ate the pizza anyway since they gave it to us for free.
Sadly, this is the only picture I have. I need to get some more from Kate.
